STOP! 🛑 You were given BAD Advice! (If you stuggle with Marketing your business read this)


Hey Reader,

If you are like most business owners, you have services or products that you have to market so that potential clients/customers can find you.

Oftentimes, I see business owners struggling to market their businesses for four main reasons:

  1. đź«Ł They worry what others will think, and deep down, they measure their success based on how many times they have to advertise to get customers/clients
  2. đźš©They underestimate how much they need to advertise their offerings to get the rate of return they desire
  3. ⚠️They feel they lack enough content to market their business consistently
  4. 🥵They do not know what is effective because advertising a business is not familiar- they lack certainty in this area

Unfortunately, many of you are given "marketing advice" to "fake it till you make it." Although that is a catchy phrase and said with good intent, it is horrible advice!

This phrase tells you to try to make people think you are a business until they give you their business. DO NOT DO THIS!

When you try to "fake it," you inadvertently send a message to yourself that you haven't truly "made it" yet. This can lead to a shift in mindset, where you may view your business as illegitimate or you start feeling like an imposter.

This mindset can also create:

  1. Incorrect Focus - Customers should be your #1 priority, not impressing others or meeting external expectations. Don’t let your mindset shift from your customer to yourself. If you feel nervous about promoting your business because of what others might think, you're focusing on the wrong thing.
  2. Inauthenticity - Customers today are more discerning than ever and can sense when something feels off. Authenticity builds trust, and trust is the foundation of long-term client relationships.
  3. Self-Doubt - Constantly telling yourself to "fake it till you make it" can undermine your confidence. Remember, you started your business believing in your product or service. Stand by that conviction. Trust in your abilities and the value you offer.
  4. Burnout - When you try so hard to "fake it," you eventually burn out. Trying to maintain an image that isn't true to yourself is exhausting and will leave you feeling defeated when it doesn't work.

Instead of faking it, focus on showcasing the genuine strengths of your business. Celebrate your unique selling points, be authentic, and engage with your audience in a way that reflects your true self.

Let's shift your mindset from "fake it till you make it" to "showcase your services (or product) unapologetically."

P.S. Remember, everyone needs to market their business in some capacity. Even multimillion-dollar companies spend hundreds of thousands on marketing each year. WHY? Because they understand that advertising their business is critical to sustainability and growth.
